Trump tariffs impacting personal care products
Trade war between the two giants
President Trump imposed 10% tariffs on $200 billion in several Chinese imports, and potentially increased to 25% by 2019. In response to this, China has decided to impose tariffs on 5,207 items imported from the United Sates.
Among the products impacted for U.S. consumers are personal care products, appliances, and fruits and nuts. Common products purchased by every household.
On the other side, Chinese’s response with its own tariffs among 5,207 products imported from the U.S., among which we can find some that will impact our sector:
• Essential oils of: orange, lemon, lime, peppermint and mint.
• Flavored green tea
• Food preparations
• Some extracted oleoresins (including paprika)
